Gas & Energy Transition Research Centre
Dr Julie Pearce
ARC Industry Fellow
Biography
Dr Julie Pearce is a ARC Mid-career Industry Fellow and researcher at the UQ Gas & Energy Transition Research Centre. Her expertise is in gas-water-rock interactions, with a particular focus on CO2 geological storage.
Julie's research employs geochemical and isotopic techniques to understand inter-aquifer connectivity and develop field-based methods for measuring dissolved gases and isotopes. Julie’s work involves fundamental research as well as applied industry collaborations, and she has previously contributed to environmental impact assessments and provided expert opinions to government bodies.
Dr Pearce holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Bristol and has experience working in the UK, Japan, and Australia.
