The UQ Centre for Coal Seam Gas (CCSG) has been successful with three project applications to the National Energy Resources Australia (NERA Project Fund) with a total of approx. $600,000.
The objective of the NERA Project Fund is to support industry-led, collaborative projects that demonstrate innovative solutions for the energy resources sector - with the aim of enhancing productivity, competitiveness and long-term sustainability within Australia's oil, gas, coal and uranium industries.
The three successful CCSG projects are:
- "Identifying Different Sources of Sub-surface Methane in Groundwater" led by Prof Jim Underschultz
- "Converting Tight Contingent CSG Resources: Application of Graded Particle Injection in CSG Stimulation" led by Prof Ray Johnson
- “From University R&D to Commercialisation of a New Geostatistical Technique (Petrel plug-in): A key technique to improve reservoir modelling for heterogeneous (CSG) reservoirs” led by Prof Suzanne Hurter
Kick off for the three NERA funded CCSG projects will be in 2018 and they will each run for up to 24 months.
