Biography
Emeritus Professor Andrew (Alf) Garnett is an established academic and research leader with expertise in the gas and energy sectors. His academic career builds on over 25 years of commercial, project and technical experience in the oil and gas industry.
From 2012 to 2023, Alf served as Director of the Centre for Natural Gas, which saw him work closely with CSG/LNG proponents in the eastern states and regularly contribute to government consultations and inquires about the gas sector, CCUS, the broader energy transition and the role of gas.
Alf is the current Chair of the Australian Gas Industry Trust (AGIT), a not-for profit trust aimed at education and research around the gas sector and he is also an Executive Committee Member on the International Gas Union.
